Time to unleash Europe’s Deadliest Lions

Even though it’s 50 years since England’s one and only success at the finals of a major international tournament there are a few positives signs, suggesting that an end to the drought could be in sight. England qualified for France 2016 in fine style, recording a 100% win record in the process and the emergence of some fine young players in the form of Dele Alli, Ross Barkley and John Stones certainly bodes well for the future.

However, it is in attack where England are suddenly blessed with an array of options. A quick look at the top two club scorers from each nation that represent the first six in the betting for this summer’s showcase event makes for impressive viewing.

Fantasy Football Portal -Vardy-Kane

As can be seen in the www.oulala.com infographic above, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy are out-scoring all of their European counterparts, having amassed 40 goals between them in the process.

However, the big question remains – does Roy Hodgson have the guts to play them together?

Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge are both back playing again and will be pushing for a seat on the plane, while skipper Wayne Rooney, should be fit in time for the tournament.

Leaving Rooney out will be a brave call, but this weekend’s friendly international with World Cup winners Germany certainly affords Hodgson the opportunity to pitch the two in-form strikers together.

If they click, the clamour for them to start in the opener will grow week by week – which could spell trouble for Wayne Rooney!

Has Roy Hodgson got the guts to start Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy against the Germans?
