Euro 2016 MD3 – 19th to 22nd June

Germans to go on the offensive in their bid for European domination

The Euro 2016 final round of group games will take place over the next four days, providing some intriguing dilemmas for fantasy football managers. Occasionally you will get a set of fixtures that are somewhat disjointed and this is a case in point. Only one of the twelve games is expected to produce ‘3 or more goals’ – Northern Ireland versus Germany – the bookies have set their lines making ‘2 or less goals’ the favoured outcome in all of the remaining fixtures!

Germany also have the biggest goals supremacy, with Northern Ireland only given around an 8 per cent chance of winning the game by the bookmakers, adding extra fuel to the argument for selecting players representing the World Cup winners.

When this type of scenario occurs it make sense to consider stacking your line-up with players from the same side in the hope that they can dovetail off each other. If you are participating in budget-free contests, such as those offered by Bet4theBest, then including the likes of Mesut Özil, Toni Kroos, Thomas Müller and co is not an issue and you will still have the option of including other highly-sought players that would be unaffordable with operators who have salary cap constraints in place. Your only concerns are making sure that you stay within the maximum number of allowed players from one side and that you choose players who will start – remember squad rotation is a risk at this stage of the competition for a number of the Euro 2016 contenders.

Elsewhere Ronaldo will be looking to make amends for his penalty miss against the Austrians and will almost certainly be amongst the highest-owned players for any contest you choose to enter that features the Portugal game.
