Can Ulloa capitalise on Blind’s deficiencies to secure Foxes the title ?

Fate is a peculiar thing and often works in mysterious ways, so when Jamie Vardy received his marching orders against West Ham United it meant opportunity would knock for someone else. Step forward Leonardo Ulloa – and the Argentinian didn’t disappoint – netting a brace, including a trademark header, in the 4-0 thrashing of Swansea City.

Ulloa scored 5 headed goals for Brighton and Hove Albion in the 2013/14 season before making the switch to Leicester City. He played his part as the Foxes pulled off that great escape last season but has been a peripheral figure this time around. However, with Vardy receiving an additional one game ban, it means that Ulloa will lead the line against Manchester United, assuming he recovers from the back spasm that forced him off against Swansea City, knowing that three points will be enough to guarantee them the title.

One aspect that fantasy football managers often overlook is direct match-ups or more specifically how a player will perform against a direct opponent. Daley Blind had the dubious distinction of being included in the Premier League’s Most Ineffective XI earlier this week, in an article written by Martin Laurence for WhoScored, with the Dutchman’s crime being that he had won just 39% of the aerial duels he had competed for. This should be music to Ulloa’s ears – he is a proper target man – and he will surely be relishing the confrontation with Blind!

Market moves

Southampton and Chelsea have been the biggest movers with the bookies. Manchester City have bigger fish to fry with that intriguing 2nd leg in Madrid to look forward to, so a trip to St Marys’on a Sunday is the last thing they need.

Tottenham’s slip up against West Bromwich Albion all but ended their title hopes and even if Leicester fail to clinch the title at Old Trafford, Chelsea might just put the final nail in Spurs’ coffin for them.

Elsewhere Arsenal would appear to have the easiest task on paper against a struggling Norwich City side, but writing off sides who are desperate for points at this stage of the season is not always wise.
