Time to Play the FPL Wildcard

The 2016/17 FPL wildcard is played ahead of GW4

After an inauspicious start to the 2016/17 Fantasy Premier League season, we were left with no alternative but to play the wildcard. Sometimes drastic measures are called for and the inclusion of Christian Benteke is an indication of how bad things are.

Hopefully the big man will come good and we’ve also put our faith in Arsenal and Everton players, in an attempt to propel our squad up that leaderboard.

Olivier Giroud has had a good rest and we’re expecting the big Frenchman to fire some life into Arsenal’s stuttering title challenge, with the ammunition being provided by Mesut Özil and Alexis Sánchez.

Ronald Koeman has transformed Everton in a matter of weeks, injecting some much-needed pace into the side, while shoring up a leaky defence at the same time. The Toffees have a nice set of fixtures coming up and now looks the perfect time for Romelu Lukaku to hit the goal trail.

We’re hoping that Burnley and Southampton can pick up a number of clean sheets in the next few rounds and we’ll be rotating our goalkeepers according to fixture severity.

We’re gone for a 3-4-3 formation in Gameweek 4 and are hoping that our stacks can connect, with Özil a confident choice for the arm-band.
