It’s a marathon, not a sprint
FPL line-up for Gameweek 2
Gameweek 1 didn’t go as planned. First, there was the curious case of Romelu Lukaku, swiftly followed by a Yaya Touré gamble that didn’t pay off, for various reasons. Given that we preach the importance of playing time, it was not a great start to the new FPL season. However, in our defence we did publish the article a good few days in advance.
Anyway, as the saying goes – it’s a marathon, not a sprint so let’s see if we can get back on track.
Touré did not travel to Romania, with Guardiola telling him to focus on the next game. There has also been speculation linking him with a move to the Chinese Super League, which won’t help his cause either, so the sensible thing to do is to transfer him out.
FPL Transfer – Gameweek 2
Idrissa Gueye looks like he could be one of the catches of the season and Everton have some soft fixtures coming up. His arrival and that of Yannick Bolasie should help with their transitional play, so we’re going to transfer in Ross Barkley. Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has again been linked with a move to Chelsea but Ronald Koeman insists that a heel injury kept him out of the Spurs game and is confident that the Belgian striker will be back for the West Brom game, while injury expert @BenDinnery also insists he will be fine, so we’ll take their word for it, after all, he is one of our more expensive FPL purchases!
FPL Captain – Gameweek 2
If you checked out our goal projections for gameweek 2 you will recall that Spurs are one of the teams FPL managers should be looking to side with, so we’re going to pass the arm-band on to Christian Eriksen.
Here’s our Fantasy Premier League line-up for Gameweek 2:
Now just sit back and watch Yaya Touré roll back the years!
