Free Hitters Out In Force

Is that Free Hit Chip begging to be played?

The Free Hit Chip is expected to come to the fore in GW32 as Fantasy Premier League managers look to capitalise on the upcoming Double Gameweek fixtures.

Manchester City assets are likely to be all the rage and the deployment of the Triple Captain Chip on the likes of Sergio Agüero will tempt a few but a blank in GW33 due to the Citizens’ FA Cup involvement will more than likely have steered the majority of managers away from this particular course of action.

City’s fixtures just don’t get much better than this though, a fact that is highlighted by our GW32 Goal Projections.

To emphasise just how good these matchups are for Pep Guardiola’s side, an away game against Fulham followed by a home game with Cardiff City, one only has look and see that the Manchester side are expected to score more than 3 times the number of goals than that expected of title rivals’ Liverpool, who face Spurs on Sunday!

However, the international break has thrown a bit of a spanner into the works. We’ve already seen a catalogue of injury-related withdrawals so club managers will be keeping their fingers crossed that those players that did end up featuring for their respective national sides all return unscathed.

This has no doubt left many FPL managers scratching their heads but the threat of rotation only complicates matters further, with an FA Cup semi-final and the 1st leg of a Champions League quarter-final on the horizon.

Having said that, two of City’s explosive types, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sané, are both bang in-form and cannot be overlooked.

The former scored a hat-trick for England against the Czech Republic on Friday to vastly improve on a disappointing scoring record for his country while the latter was on the receiving end of a horror tackle against Serbia when representing Germany which thankfully did not cause any lasting damage.

Both players are sure to be popular and the fact that you can include up to 3 City assets in those Free Hit squads should ensure that their ownership levels soar but Agüero, who has had the luxury of a well-earned breather, looks the safest bet.

Perhaps Guardiola will give a few clues in his scheduled press conference later in the week but don’t bank on it!
