Dynamic Dane is arm-band material
Last week we gave the Flash Mode 3 Minute Challenge a go on FantasyBet so this week we thought we would take the pressure off a bit and see if we can fare any better by selecting a line-up when all players and the full complement of fixtures are available.
In this regular format you are required to complete a 15-man squad by utilising the available budget so our first task was to try to ascertain if any player group is at a disadvantage. On observation defenders would appear to be averaging the least points per game compared with the other outfield positions so starting with a 3-man defence seemed like a good strategy.
In The Pantomime Season we looked at the Boxing Day games and figured that it is now or never for Aston Villa so we’re taking a chance, not only on Jordan Veretout in a more advanced creative role but also on both full-backs helping Villa secure a much needed clean sheet against an injury ravaged Hammers team. We’ve also included Charlie Daniels, who took a spot kick for the Cherries last week, making him exceptionally valuable in this format, assuming he keeps penalty-taking responsibility of course.
Manchester City have the highest goal expectancy so we’ve gone for Raheem Sterling and Sergio Agüero, in the hope that both can contribute enough in whatever game time they are given. Harry Kane and the in-from Olivier Giroud will complete the forward line.
We’re expecting Christian Eriksen to be in the thick of the action for Spurs and have given him the arm-band meaning that any points he earns will be ‘doubled’ while the Chelsea duo of Thibaut Courtois and Oscar complete our starters. Your choice of captain is likely to be pivotal to the outcome of the contest so whoever you select must deliver and we’re banking on the Dane, not only to dictate the game but to produce that telling contribution when it matters.
There are plenty of contests to choose from and here’s a reminder of our Boxing Day crackers.
