GW31 Fantasy Premier League Picks
It’s a case of damage limitation in tough-looking midweek FPL round
You might recall that we opted to release the ‘All Out Attack’ chip in GW30, in an attempt to propel ourselves up the Fantasy Premier League rankings. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out to be too successful, as all of our 3 forwards blanked but we did at least manage to register a green arrow for the 6th time in 8 gameweeks.
GW31 promises to be a tough card so it might be a case of damage limitation.
While the extent of Sadio Mané’s knee injury is still to be revealed, it’s highly unlikely that he will be available for Liverpool’s match with Bournemouth. We’ve therefore decided to replace him with Alexis Sánchez, who is not only the leading captain contender for the upcoming game round but also has 2 subsequent eye-catching fixtures. It may be a knee-jerk reaction but with fixtures running out, we need to accumulate as many points as possible now.
Jermain Defoe is carrying a knock but is expected to to be passed fit, so he gets the nod over Josh King and Robert Snodgrass, who both face tough opposition. The latter two may be needed though, if any manager opts to rotate his squad in GW31.
We’ve opted for a 4-man defence, in an attempt to pick up a few clean sheet points which is a far cry from the 2-5-3 we utilised last time out! Clean sheets do look possible though, based on the latest EPL goal projections
Can Alexis justify his transfer fee and provide us with a much needed tonic in GW31?
