FPL Armband Stats For GW31

Is Vardy a viable armband option to the top-rated Sánchez in Gameweek 31?

Jamie Vardy seems to be peaking at exactly the right time. The England striker, who received a fair amount of criticism after turning down a move to Arsenal earlier in the campaign, was on the score-sheet again at the weekend in Leicester City’s 2-0 home win over Stoke City and he still has a Champions League quarter-final to look forward to, an experience the Gunners have not enjoyed since the 2009/10 edition of the competition.

Vardy’s good form and a favourable home fixture against bottom club Sunderland, makes the former Halifax Town and Fleetwood Town striker a viable option for the GW31 Fantasy Premier League armband.

After serving a 3-match suspension for an elbow on Tyrone Mings, Zlatan Ibrahimović will return to the Manchester United starting XI against Everton. The well-travelled striker is likely to be a popular choice but he is just pipped by Arsenal’s Alexis Sánchez in the GW31 ‘Captometer’ rankings, which gauge the likelihood of players being directly involved in goals.

The table with ID 21 not exists.

Sánchez scored a hat-trick against the Hammers at the London Stadium in December and Arsene Wenger will be banking on the Chilean international producing the goods yet again, to keep alive his side’s faltering hopes of securing Champions League football next season.

Despite some impressive stats when involved, Olivier Giroud has started just 7 Premier League games for the Gunners all season and the French striker might have to make do with a place on the bench yet again.

Sadio Mané is not expected to be passed fit for Liverpool’s home game with Bournemouth, in which Philippe Coutinho will be looking to build on his impressive showing in the Merseyside derby.

Those are the leading contenders for the GW31 armband but who are you going to pick as your Fantasy Premier League captain?
