Want-Away Lukaku In Demand

Romelu Lukaku tops Fantasy Premier League captaincy rankings yet again

Reports from the BBC suggest that Romelu Lukaku has rejected a contract extension with Everton, fuelling speculation that he will look to secure Champions League football next season by demanding a move in the summer.

The Belgium striker hit his 19th Premier League goal of the season in last weekend’s 3-0 home victory over West Bromwich Albion and he will surely fancy his chances of adding to that tally, when Everton welcome relegation-haunted Hull City to Goodison Park on Saturday.

Lukaku comes out on top in the GW29 ‘Captometer’ rankings which classify players in terms of their goals and assists potential, based on fixture difficulty.

The table with ID 18 not exists.

With Zlatan Ibrahimović suspended for Manchester United and Spurs’ Harry Kane ruled out with ankle ligament damage, it means Arsenal’s Alexis Sánchez is rated second best.

However, it is who will fill the void that is left by Kane’s absence that might attract the attention of fantasy football managers looking for a differential armband pick.

Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen both figure prominently but it’s South Korea international Son Heung-min who could be the spanner in the works.

He started the season in tremendous fashion but has struggled for playing time and hasn’t completed a full 90 minutes in a league match since New Year’s Day. Son did, however, complete the match in Sunday’s 6-0 FA Cup victory over Millwall, pocketing the match ball and picking up a WhoScored rating of 10 in the process.

Tottenham’s number 7 is also classified as midfielder in many game formats, which adds to his appeal if he is given the privilege of leading the line and it’s also worth pointing out that on a strict game minutes basis he is registering a goal or an assist at a better rate that Alli.

Elsewhere, Jermain Defoe will need to rediscover his scoring boots, sooner rather than later, if Sunderland are to have any chance of surviving, so he is also a tempting proposition but something tells us that Lukaku will be right up there, with the highest captaincy ownership in GW29!
