Time for the English Invasion
DraftKings finally launched in the UK this week, on the back of news that they had become the official fantasy sports partners of Liverpool, Arsenal and Watford, but it should be noted that the product is only currently available via Android and iOS apps.
One DraftKings customer, Aaron Jones, recently scooped an incredible $5m first prize in their Fantasy Football (NFL) World Championship. Shared liquidity with US pools will allow UK players to compete for huge prizes and give players from both sides of the Pond the chance to show exactly who knows their onions when it comes to football-related matters. However, it is worth noting that England have failed to defeat the USA on the two occasions that the nations have met at the World Cup finals, including a famous 1-0 defeat at the 1950 finals, so this offers a great opportunity for the English to right a few wrongs!
There’s a $1000 freeroll that serves as the perfect introduction to the DraftKings soccer product so we suggest you try that out to familiarise yourself with the game and some of the key elements of their scoring rules. The contest features the Bournemouth vs Arsenal and Chelsea vs Manchester United games scheduled for Sunday.
We cover the scoring criteria in fine detail here, providing not only comprehensive playing guides, but also the significance of crosses, that goalkeeper win bonus and the lenience with which players are penalised for specific facets of play.
You will find that the salary cap is quite tight so accommodating the likes of Willian, Giroud and Özil will not be easy!
Here’s our line-up and remember to use the ‘late-swap’ functionality that allows you to edit your line-up, should any player you select in the second match not be featuring in the starting XI for his side.
