The End of the Road for Mo
Salah axed as the ‘wildcard’ comes out
Having paid the price for our failure to get Mo Salah into our Fantasy Premier League side early enough in the campaign, we are now threatening to compound the problem even further by axing the Egyptian international from our squad.
We had intended to play our ‘wildcard’ this week anyway, so when Salah limped off at Anfield on Wednesday, we didn’t hesitate.
Of course, we could easily be left with egg on our face if he puts on another masterclass at Goodison Park on Saturday but our gut feeling is that he will not feature.
Removing Salah from our line-up has enabled us to pick up Harry Kane again and the Tottenham Hotspur striker will wear the GW33 armband on our behalf.
Sam Allardyce has been heavily criticised this week so he will surely relish the chance of pulling off a famous victory in the Merseyside derby. Everton may have failed to beat their illustrious neighbours in their last 16 meetings but they are sure to be fired up for this one against a Liverpool side that have the Champions League on their mind, so we’re sticking with Cenk Tosun up front.
We’ve brought in a few players that will feature twice in the upcoming double gameweek but with no ‘free hit‘ chip to fall back on, we’ve also made sure that we can get some sort of line-up out in the blank gameweek that follows it.
If City defeat United in Saturday’s Manchester derby, the Premier League title will be wrapped up but there’s still plenty at stake for fantasy managers between now and the end of the season, so one question many will have to answer is whether or not they intend sticking with Mo?
