Fanaments Playing Guide
Please Note :- Fanaments are currently not operating
Introduction
The Fanaments landing page presents visitors with 3 options. You can play for free by signing up, filling in your details as directed, you can go directly to the lobby to view available contests or you can login if you are an existing customer.
There is also some basic information highlighting what steps are involved in the playing process.
Competition Lobby
When you click through to the main lobby you will see that there are two other tabs available, one details ‘How to play’ while the other one references the ‘Rules’ in Frequently Asked Questions format.
Once you log-in you will see that additional tabs become available in the shape of ‘Leaders’ and ‘My Tournaments’.
Usability is one of Fanaments key strengths and this certainly applies in terms of navigation. The main lobby allows you to filter contests by sport, game type (Fantasy or Pick’em), pay-out structure and entry fee. Contests are not only listed by sports but they are also clearly marked by boxed symbols that provide further information about the make-up of the contest. You can search tournaments by column headers simply by clicking on buy-in size, field size, prize money on offer or starting time. The side menu provides further options that allow for contests to be filtered by game type or contest type in addition to buy-in size range by adjusting the slider.
You can also create your own contests by clicking ‘Create Tournament’ and following the onscreen instructions.
You can click into any contest name to view all the key information which will be displayed at the top of the screen. This includes: start time, fixtures within the contest, prize pool, entry fee, names and number of players entered, the maximum number of entries and the maximum number of entries per user.
Once you have selected a tournament that you would like to participate in click on ‘Enter’ to commence the team selection process.
Team Selection
You are given a 100M budget from which you must select 11 players. Playing formations are flexible but you must include at least 1 goalkeeper, 3-5 defenders, 3-5 midfielders and 1-3 forwards. You will also select a captain who will earn double points. Teams need to be submitted 5 minutes before the first match in the contest kicks off.
Player selection is really straightforward. There is a search box in which you can type a player’s name, a slider to filter by valuation, the option to search by team, position and total points.
Players can also be sorted by statistic with 16 options available e.g. Average points last 5 rounds, Goals conceded.
Your line-up is presented in list form and you need to mark one player CP to indication your choice of captain. Once you have completed your selections click ‘Enter’ to join the contest.
The following video demo provides further information about the Fanaments competition lobby and team selection process.
Game rules and Scoring
Two things worth pointing out are that your selected captain will score double points and that tiebreaker rules apply should you finish level on points with another competitor.
The scoring criteria that are in place rewards all players points for specific actions as well additional points that only apply to individual positions.
Fanaments ‘Live Score Centre’ provides users with real-time updates on their team’s performance against opposing managers and is a pleasure to use. This can be accessed via the ‘My tournaments’ tab.
The full Fanaments Scoring System can be seen below along with the tiebreaker definition.
As an additional attraction Fanaments offer Pick’em contests where you select the match outcome (1, X or 2) for a number of fixtures, indicating the winning margin or in the case of a draw whether both teams will score. 3 points are awarded per correct outcome with a bonus point on offer for correct winning margin/score draw or no score draw. You will also highlight one match (marking it x2) in which points will count double.
