Liverpool’s Fab Four

It might not be Beatlemania just yet but Liverpool’s new ‘Fab Four’ are beginning to gel

Liverpool have now scored 3 or more goals in 8 of their last 9 matches in all competitions. This rich vein of scoring form has had Fantasy Premier League managers clamoring to get hold of at least one of their fantasy assets with Mohamed Salah, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané all very much in demand.

When you consider that the quartet have accounted for 25 of the Reds’ 33 Premier League goals it’s unlikely that this pattern will change ahead of GW16 either, with Everton up next in the Merseyside derby.

However, even though the Toffees have conceded 28 times in the Premier League already this season, perhaps a word of caution is needed.

New Everton manager Sam Allardyce knows the value of a clean sheet more than many of his counterparts and back-to-back shutouts do augur well for the Goodison Park outfit’s long-term prospects.

Looking at the GW16 ‘Armband’ rankings, it appears that Salah is the pick of the Reds’ contingent but Coutinho was on spot-kick duty on Wednesday so that clearly adds another valuable string to his bow.

The table with ID 44 not exists.

At the start of the season, many questioned whether Jürgen Klopp would be able to accommodate his ‘Fab 4’ in the same starting line-up, so recent results certainly suggest that he can.

However, if you are still not convinced about handing the GW16 armband to a Liverpool player, who is the pick of the rest?

Top of the list is Harry Kane, a player that is currently dividing FPL managers.

With his inflated price tag perhaps a bit more could be expected. However, his xG90 (Expected goal per 90 minutes) is only marginally down on what he achieved last season and he continues to get a high quantity of shots away (5.7 per game).

In fact, stats from WhoScored indicate that he has had 26 more than his nearest rival – the aforementioned Salah.

Kane, who sits second in the scoring charts behind the Egyptian international, has also hit the woodwork 5 times (more than any other player).

Spurs have the pick of the GW16 fixtures and even though they may be in a bit of a slump domestically, it might just be a bit early to write off Kane!

However, if you prefer to go with a side that has its players singing from same song-sheet then Liverpool’s ‘Fab Four’ could be the answer, with their movement and understanding seemingly improving with every passing match.
