Alexis Sánchez didn’t manage a single touch in Chelsea’s penalty area the previous Saturday but that statistic was unlikely to deter too many Fantasy Premier League managers from giving the Chilean attacker the captain’s armband in Gameweek 25.

Sánchez had cut a frustrated figure in the preceding weeks but still had 15 Premier League goals and 8 assists to his name that season. The upcoming home match with Hull City looked like the perfect opportunity for Arsene Wenger to put his 4-2-3-1 formation to one side and install Sánchez as the spearhead of a three-pronged attack that could inject much-needed life into Arsenal’s faltering title bid.

Sánchez again ranked highly in our ‘Captometer’ rankings for GW25 but he was just pipped to first place by the evergreen Zlatan Ibrahimović.
