FPL Goalkeeper Rotation

Is this the perfect time to rotate those Fantasy Premier League goalkeepers ?

After opting for a 4-man defence and failing to secure a solitary clean sheet from our goalkeeper or defenders, 59 points was a respectable return from Gameweek 19.

Harry Kane delivered the goods, justifying the faith we placed in him, when we passed the arm-band back to him.

With little respite before GW20 gets underway, we have decided to focus our attention on the goalkeeping situation. We brought Fraser Forster in alongside Tom Heaton, when we played our wildcard in GW4 and have stuck with the pair ever since.

However, the Saints have a very congested January calendar to negotiate, including a two-legged EFL Cup semi-final with Liverpool, so this looks as good a time as any, to replace Southampton’s number one.

We’ve decided to snap up West Bromwich Albion’s Ben Foster. The Baggies have some decent looking fixtures approaching and it should be easy to rotate between Foster and Heaton, focusing on whichever side has the favourable home game. It will also give us a bit of extra spending power for the weeks ahead.

It’s worth mentioning that we also have Burnley’s Michael Keane and West Brom’s Chris Brunt in our squad, giving us the chance of securing two sets of clean sheet bonus points, should we opt to select the pair from the same club, in any given game round.

Manchester City have the highest goal expectancy so we’re going to take the arm-band off Kane and captain Kevin de Bruyne instead. There’s always a risk involved, with Pep Guardiola chopping and changing virtually every match-day but we’re going to assume that the City boss will prioritise this fixture over the upcoming FA Cup tie with West Ham United.

Foster goes straight in between the sticks for GW20 but will our goalkeeper rotation policy pay-off over the forthcoming gameweeks?
