Fantasy Formula 1 Explained
If you are a passionate F1 fan, you will know that there aren’t too many things that can compare to the tension that builds up in the pit lane ahead of any upcoming Grand Prix. However, what if you could add to the adrenaline rush by participating in a Fantasy Formula 1 contest yourself? Well, that is now possible thanks to PlayON who have announced that they are now the Official Daily Fantasy Sports partner of Formula 1 so there is surely no better time to get started and Fantasy Football Portal are here to stear you towards that chequered flag!
What is Fantasy Formula 1?
In a Fantasy Formula 1 contest you are required to put together a team that will compete for fantasy points during a Grand Prix or series of Grand Prix races, with the ultimate aim being to score more points than all of the other ‘managers’ that are taking part.
In the case of PlayON Fantasy Formula 1, you are given a $100m budget to spend from which you must select 5 drivers and 1 constructor. PlayON uses its own algorithm to assign driver valuations based on all of the information available from their most recent performances and you must ensure that you stay within that budget.
A variety of contests are listed in the PlayON lobby under F1 with Daily and Weekly being used in the game description to distinguish between those tournaments that are focused on just the race itself and those in which qualifying is included as well, while the usual array of Guaranteed prize pools and H2Hs are available.
Fantasy Formula 1 Scoring
The scoring system is pretty exciting with an emphasis placed on positions gained or lost from qualifying places. Drivers who slip down the standings are penalised while those that make up places are rewarded.
