EPL Gameweek 4 Goal Projections

Goal projections for those GW4 Fantasy Premier League contests

Each round of fixtures presents different challenges for daily fantasy football managers. If you’re familiar with our goal projections, you will know that they are calculated based on the latest betting lines. Usually, one or two teams stand-out and they have what could be classified as ‘soft’ fixtures on paper, meaning that players from these sides should be at the forefront of your thinking.

However, every now and then a game round crops up, where the fixtures are much more even. Gameweek 4 is a case in point, with no team penciled in above the 2 goal mark and almost all teams within a 1 goal supremacy range of their opponents.

This should ensure that diverse line-ups are the order of the day for this weekend’s contests, so here are the aforementioned Premier League goal projections.

Season-long fantasy football managers have plenty to ponder ahead of Gameweek 4 as well. It could be argued that it is one of the most critical times of the season, so here are some key points for consideration:

  • The closure of the transfer window. How will a flurry of late arrivals impact on line-ups going forward? Take Spurs, for instance, a deeper squad suddenly means that the likes of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Érik Lamela are no longer guaranteed starters.
  • The Sergio Aguero conundrum. With a 3-match ban confirmed – how will season-long managers respond? Leave him rotting on the bench, play the wildcard, transfer him out? If you opt for the latter, getting him back in might not be that easy with his lofty price tag.
  • The international break – will players return fit and healthy, ready to go again in Gameweek 4? The likes of Antonio Valencia, one of the nominees for August’s Premier League Player of the Month Award, is away on international duty with Ecuador and not expected back in Manchester until Friday, possibly ruling him out of the Manchester derby. Lamela might sit out Spurs’ game at Stoke City for similar reasons, allowing Moussa Sisssoko to make his debut.

Team news is likely to be highly significant in GW4 so keep a close eye on upcoming match previews and any breaking injury news!
