The likes of Antonio Valencia, one of the nominees for August’s Premier League Player of the Month Award, is away on international duty with Ecuador and not expected back in Manchester until Friday, possibly ruling him out of the Manchester derby. Lamela might sit out Spurs’ game at Stoke City for similar reasons, allowing Moussa Sisssoko to make his debut.
