Believe In Blue

Time for Chelsea to show that title belief

Chelsea’s perfect start to the new campaign came to an end when they were held to a goal-less stalemate at the London Stadium last Sunday.

The Blues are very much a work-in-progress but the early signs are very promising. No other team has made as many passes as Chelsea, while Manchester City are the only side to have registered more shots and more key passes per game this season.

The West Londoners, who came from behind to knock Liverpool out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, get an immediate chance to inflict further misery on the Merseysiders when the two sides meet again on Saturday and a victory would also signal the end of the Reds’ 100% winning start to the new Premier League season.

Our latest goal projections suggest that there is very little to choose between the two sides but the Blues may need to be a bit more clinical in front of goal if they are to get the better of their title rivals this weekend.

Goals GW7

Eden Hazard came off the bench to score the winning goal on Wednesday following a mesmerising dribble and all eyes are sure to be on the Belgian wizard on Saturday.

However, we can expect Fantasy Premier League managers to be focusing on ‘softer’ fixtures for their armband choices this weekend, bringing Harry Kane and Sergio Agüero firmly into the equation.

Spurs face bottom side Huddersfield Town but preference is for Manchester City’s Argentinian forward who tops our GW7 goal contribution ratings and is also averaging 2.4 more shots per game than the World Cup Golden Boot winner according to stats from WhoScored.

It promises to be a fantastic weekend of sport with blue Europe looking to regain golf’s Ryder Cup from red USA in Paris….don’t rule out a similar scenario at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues looking to put themselves firmly in the title picture by edging out the Reds for the second time in 4 days.

It’s all about belief!
