Premier League fixture difficulty guide for Gameweek 14

Historically, when it comes to selecting goalkeepers and defenders for those fantasy football teams, clean sheets have been worth their weight in gold, however, that no longer seems to be the case, with  ‘shut-outs’ seemingly a much rarer commodity.

This now presents managers with something of a conundrum and they need to decide what sort of investment levels should be afforded to each playing position.

The dearth of clean sheets that we have witnessed this season would suggest that focusing on teams with the highest goals projections is as good a place to start as any.

Tottenham Hotspur would therefore seem to be the standout candidate ahead of GW14, with a favourable home fixture against Swansea City on the horizon. Expect Harry Kane to be a popular choice, as Spurs look to bounce back after surrendering their unbeaten record at Stamford Bridge. Spurs also appear to have the best chance of recording a clean sheet, against the side with the lowest goals expectancy although the Swans did put 5 past Crystal Palace last weekend.

Gameweek 14 kicks off with an absolute cracker as table-topping Chelsea face pre-season title favourites Manchester City at the Etihad and there isn’t too much to choose between the 2 sides, judging by the latest Premier League match betting odds.

Liverpool will have to make do without the inspirational Philippe Coutinho, when they travel to Bournemouth on Sunday, while Manchester United will be desperate to pick up maximum points when they make the short trip to Goodison Park on the same day.
