A Fitting Finale For The Sheepskin Coat

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang set to present John Motson with one final challenge

John Motson will commentate on BBC radio for the last time when Arsenal take on Watford at the Emirates on Sunday. Revered by many as the greatest football commentator of all time, Motson has had a stellar career dating back to 1971 when he first appeared on Match of the Day.

Many of his quotes will live long in the memory and Motty certainly had his own style, typified by the sheepskin coat that he wore on numerous occasions.

While the occasional gaffe was inevitable, it was his unique pronunciations that also set him apart. Who will ever forget ”Lowtar” Mattaeus or Didier ”Drogbarrr”?

It is therefore perhaps fitting that he will be presented with a real tongue-twister in the form of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on his final appearance.

The Gabon international is expected to lead the Arsenal attack on Sunday and we’re banking on him stinging the Hornets.

We’re drafting in the former Dortmund attacker with Romelu Lukaku making way. Neither player has a fixture in GW31 but that has not deterred us and Aubameyang will wear the GW30 armband.

Aubameyang was ineligible for Arsenal’s Europa League tie with Milan but he got himself on the score-sheet in the Gunners’ 2-1 defeat to Brighton, earning a WhoScored rating of 7.46 in the process and there is surely much more to come.

Junior Stanislas also comes in with Tom Carroll making way. The Bournemouth winger has a great GW31 fixture, with the Cherries hosting bottom club West Bromwich Albion but don’t rule out points this weekend either, when he gets the chance to heap more misery on a Spurs’ side that may be feeling sorry for themselves after crashing out of the Champions League. He’s the second of our free transfers.

Richarlison survives again despite throwing a tantrum after being substituted last weekend but he will have to make do with a spot on our bench in GW30.

However, this weekend is all about John Motson…and hopefully Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang!
