Open Disappointment, Augusta Joy
Will Adam Scott deliver at Royal Birkdale?
Following on from our tip for Category A, we’ve pinpointed a player in Category B in the shape of Adam Scott, another player who broke his major duck at the Masters. Not a bad place for these perennial challengers to finally make the leap to major winner!
Continuing on from the strange similarities with Sergio, Adam also has a little history with the Open.
In 2012 Adam Scott was leading with four holes to go and conceived to lose the tournament. Unlike Sergio, who took a decade to turn around his fortunes, the Aussie then only required a year. The following April he won a play-off against Ángel Cabrera to pick up the green jacket.
A swing of beauty
Adam Scott is widely considered to have one of the smoothest and most technically sound swings in modern golf. His posture is seen as tall, strong and athletic which gives him great control. And what do people require most when playing links golf? Control! None of that wide fairway rip and grip big time Charlie golf. The Open really tests golfing skill and of all the people in category B Adam Scott is well placed to take advantage of that.
Recent form
His form leading into the weekend suggests that Adam Scott may be a little bit of a risky selection for fantasy golf players.
He has made 10 out of 12 cuts in 2017 but failed to make the final day in the recent Major at Erin Hills. Two rounds of 72 and 75 failed to back up some good form, having had three top 10 finishes in the previous five competitions!
Fantasy Golf
Fantasy golf players will love the wide range of games available to them for Fantasy Open 2017. Picking a team couldn’t be simpler without budgets at Fanto.
