FPL Armband Ratings For Double Gameweek 37

Which player is ‘captain’ material in the penultimate gameweek of the season?

The threat of rotation is set to rear its ugly head in GW37 and this could have serious implications for Fantasy Premier League managers, as they negotiate the final 2 gameweeks of the season. On top of this, there are 5 additional fixtures, meaning that 10 sides will play twice in Gameweek 37.

This clearly gives players from these sides an advantage, so there is no surprise in seeing the GW37 armband ratings being dominated by this group, with Gylfi Sigurdsson being the only player that represents a team that will not feature twice from those listed.

Chelsea will expect to wrap the title up on Friday when they travel to West Bromwich Albion, so it’s highly likely that Antonio Conte will ring the changes on Monday, as he starts plotting for an FA Cup Final with Arsenal. This could mean that the likes of Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, Pedro and Cesc Fàbregas are all in danger of sitting out the latter encounter, which is a home game against Watford.

Watford themselves, along with West Bromwich Albion, Leicester City, Sunderland, Southampton and Manchester United play twice but they all have tough fixtures, so it’s difficult to make a case for any of their players.

Spurs will sew up 2nd spot, if they defeat Manchester United at White Hart Lane on Sunday, so Mauricio Pochettino may be tempted to ring the changes for their game at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday against outgoing champions’ Leicester City.

This leaves Arsenal and Manchester City to focus on, so we can expect plenty of FPL managers to give the GW37 captaincy to players from either of these teams.

Alexis Sánchez justified his position at the top of the GW36 rankings, when he got himself on the score-sheet in the Gunners 2-0 win at Southampton, picking up maximum bonus points in the process. He’s the top ranked candidate again this week but if Arsenal were to slip up at Stoke City and other results were to go against them a top-four finish could be out of reach. In such a scenario, Arsene Wenger might also be tempted to rotate, with one eye on that cup final. That upcoming home game against Sunderland is sure to mean that the Chilean international is among the most-captained players regardless though.

Manchester City should have maximum motivation and significantly, have 2 home games. Pep Guardiola, who is accustomed to rotating his troops, will be keen to see his charges kick on and secure a top-three finish, so that City avoid the Champions League qualifying round.

This means that a plethora of City players can be considered but Gabriel Jesus and Kevin de Bruyne look the pick of them, with ongoing doubts surrounding the fitness of striker Sergio Agüero.

Fantasy Football Portal - Kevin De Bruyne

De Bruyne was in inspired form, in City’s 5-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace last weekend and the Belgium midfielder has completed 90 minutes in 10 of his last 11 appearances.

Who will you give that GW37 armband to?
