Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool Match Preview
Record breaking Liverpool face tough task at the Lane
Mauricio Pochettino sprung something of a surprise in Gameweek 2 by deploying Harry Kane as a number 10. Vincent Janssen was selected to lead the line for Spurs against Crystal Palace, with Dele Alli having to settle for a place on the bench.
Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool side went down 2-0 at Turf Moor on the same weekend and the Reds earned the dubious distinction of claiming an unwanted record in the process. No team had enjoyed so much possession and gone on to lose a Premier League game since records began in 2003. This will be the Reds third straight away match.

Team news & predicted starting line-ups for Tottenham v Liverpool
Kane linked up well with Janssen against the Eagles and it certainly gives Poch another dimension in attack but Dele Alli is expected to start against Liverpool, with Spurs fielding their strongest available line-up, in their customary 4-2-3-1 set-up.
Klopp has a couple of big calls to make in Gameweek 3, most notably, who will occupy their troublesome left-back spot and who will lead their attack.
Tottenham fantasy player to watch
Alberto Moreno was ridiculed for his display at the Emirates and was subsequently dropped by Klopp for the game at Burnley. However, he did come on as a second half substitute for make-shift left-back James Milner against the Clarets, so he could be recalled for the trip to White Hart Lane.
Either way, one player who looks to be in impressive form is Spurs’ Érik Lamela. He produced a sublime nutmeg on former Tottenham player Andros Townsend last weekend and he could be in for a field day down Tottenham’s right flank against Liverpool – fantasy football managers should take note!
Tottenham team news
Hugo Lloris is sidelined with a hamstring injury, meaning that Michel Vorm will continue to deputise in goal, while Mousa Dembélé continues to serve his prolonged suspension for violent conduct.
Pochettino likes to rotate his full-backs but he’s expected to go with his first choice pairing of Danny Rose and Kyle Walker this weekend.
Predicted starting line-up for Spurs (4-2-3-1)

Liverpool fantasy player to watch
Sadio Mané impressed in Gameweek 1 when Liverpool defeated Arsenal 4-3. A shoulder injury ruled him out of the Burnley game but he recovered sufficiently to star in Liverpool’s 5-0 EFL Cup win over Burton Albion.
However, it was a couple of stats from the game at the Emirates that caught the eye. The Senegalese forward completed 6 successful dribbles but perhaps more telling were the 6 tackles that he won. This would suggest that he is comfortable with Klopp’s gegenpressing and he looks the pick of the Reds new arrivals so far.
Liverpool team news
Divock Origi and Emre Can picked up knocks in the win at Burton, adding to Klopp’s worries ahead of the Spurs game.
Goalkeeper Loris Karius, defender Joe Gomez and midfielder Lucas Leiva are all currently sidelined.
Mamadou Sakho is back in training but has some bridge-building to do with Klopp before he is likely to be considered for selection.
Predicted starting line-up for Liverpool (4-3-3)
A formation included in the [sfve] shortcode doesn't exist.
The honours were shared when Pochettino came up against Klopp last season, with both games finishing tied – can either manager’s side claim 3 points at White Hart Lane, to put down a real marker for the season?
