Throwing Darts Blindfolded
Throwing darts at a board blindfolded
A thankless task if there ever was one! Picking a player from Category D, who could score you reliable points in Fanto’s Fantasy Open 2017 contests!
Let’s be honest with each other, no sane person would tip one of these players with any certainty. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few gems in there who could rack up some good points. And in the game of fantasy golf, it could be these points that make all the difference come the end of the weekend when you look at that league table!
Plus, what is more fun that picking an outsider and knowing that you are likely to be short in company by following him! If he goes on to have a stormer, you are bang in the mix!
Category D
The player we have opted for has had a tough year for personal reason. Gary Woodland has showed enormous strength, courage and bravery and deserves full praise for this.
The strongest year in Gary Woodland career was without a doubt 2011. Finishes of 24th, 23rd, 30th and 12th in the Majors was a brilliant return. We are a big fan of looking at players who have shown glimpses and never quite kicked on. 2011 demonstrates this perfectly.
It is always good to pick players for fantasy golf who have performed well at the competition and in addition to the T30 finish at the 2011 Open, Gary also finished T12th in last year’s open. He seems to like the links courses and maybe they like him.
Recent form
Gary Woodland has showed some real promise in 2017. Four top 4 finishes of which one was a runner spot at the Honda Classic back in February.
