One Tony Marshall

Anthony Martial given GW38 ‘Armband’ as we look to end FPL season on a high

It’s been a frustrating season for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial and his cause was certainly not helped by the arrival of Alexis Sánchez in the January transfer window.

While the Chilean international has flattered to deceive since hs arrival, Martial has found himself kicking his heels on the bench for the majority of the second half of the season.

He’s continually linked with a move away from Old Trafford but he did feature in a new commercial for United’s new third kit, suggesting that he may yet have a future at the Theatre of Dreams.

He’s been promised a start against Watford in Sunday’s final Premier League game, in a match in which Michael Carrick will feature for the final time in a United shirt.

There could be a party atmoshpere at Old Trafford and perhaps for once the shackles will come off and we will see some incisive attacking football. Visitors’ Watford have a woeful away record since the turn of the year, whle Martial may still feel that he has an outside chance of a FA Cup starting place and will also be keen to give French manager Didier Deschamps a timely reminder of his talents.

FPL Line-Up GW38

Harry Kane still has an outide chance of clinching his 3rd straight Golden Boot but he’s looked out of sorts since returning from injury and we’re not convinced that he will get too much help from his team-mates against Leicester City this weekend.

Kane makes way, along with Kennedy who is ineligible to play against Chelsea, in a move that sees Roberto Firmino joining Martial in our GW38 starting line-up.

We registered 124 points in GW37 so hopefully we can record another green arrow to finish the season on a high. Firmino is more than capable of upstaging the brilliant Mo Salah on his day and the latter looks certain to be the most owned/captained player this weekend.

Martial, who has 9 goals and 5 assists to his name this season, is a bit of a fans favourite but he’s only averaging a shade over 52 minutes per appearance. However, that hasn’t put us off so he’s our differential captain this weekend.

A good showing should guarantee a few renditions of ‘there’s only one Tony Marshall’.

Over to you Tony!
