FPL Selections for Gameweek 9
Bony set to seize the chance to end incredible goal drought
Wilfried Bony has now gone over 300 days without a Premier League goal. However, with some soft fixtures ahead, we’re going to take a chance on the Ivorian striker ending the drought, in a contrarian play that we hope will enable us to maintain our progress, up that Fantasy Premier League leader-board.
Marcus Rashford is the man to make way but Charlie Austin, who was an inspired transfer and captaincy pick in Gameweek 8, keeps his place.
Hull City have shipped 17 goals in their last 4 Premier League games and will have to make do without their first choice left-back, the influential Andrew Robertson, who has joined a lengthy injury list.
Stoke City have a nice set of fixtures coming up, with Hull City (a), Swansea City (h), West Ham United (a), Bournemouth (h), Watford (a) and Burnley (h), so Bony will be able to prove that he is ‘top class’ as Mark Hughes claims.
We’re not too comfortable with two of our full-backs nursing injuries so Leighton Baines makes way, with Marcos Alonso added to the squad.
Arsenal have a very favourable fixture, so Mesut Özil is given the arm-band, to carry on the good work he began in midweek!
