Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining
Bench options very much in focus as EPL managers shuffle their packs
Gameweek 32 of the the Official Fantasy Premier League season will probably be best remembered for a number of shock selection choices, as Premier League managers tested the strength of their respective squads.
Jürgen Klopp started the ball rolling by electing to bench Brazilian duo Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho but it was José Mourinho, who stole most of the headlines, leaving out Antonio Valencia and David de Gea before selecting the controversial Marouane Fellaini as captain of Manchester United.
In a high-scoring week, our FPL fortunes looked as though they would take a turn for the worse. 3 of our GW32 starters, the aforementioned Coutinho, Chris Brunt and Álvaro Negredo all started on the bench before appearing as 2nd half substitutes. Coutinho got himself on the scoreline but it was Tom Heaton and Josh King filling in for the missing United duo that really gave us a welcome boost.
GW33 sees no transfers, meaning Alexis Sánchez keeps the armband despite a couple of disappointing efforts. This, more in the hope that other results go in Arsenal’s favour and rekindle their chances of a top-four finish.
