Euro 2016 Semi-finals – 6th & 7th July
Goal projections for the Euro 2016 semi-final ties
France look to be in the best shape of the four sides that have reached the Euro 2016 semi-finals. Adil Rami and N’Golo Kanté are available for selection after serving suspensions and Didier Deschamps has a full squad to choose from. France have been installed as marginal favourites against World Cup winners Germnay, who needed extra-time and penalties to see off Italy.
Germany have problems with Mario Gomez and Sami Khedira almost certainly out with injuries. Key defender Mats Hummels is suspended meaning that Joachim Löw will once again have to juggle his pack. Emre Can could replace Bastian Schweinsteiger in midfield as well, with the Manchester United man rated as doubtful.
Wales have been hit hardest by suspensions with key man Aaron Ramsey missing out. He’s been their main creative talent at the tournament so far, chipping in with 1 goal and 4 assists and he’ll be joined on the sidelines by Ben Davies who has also picked up two yellow cards at the finals. Manager Chris Coleman is likely to stick with the 3-man defence that has served them so well throughout the tournament.
Portugal will miss midfield anchor-man William Carvahlo, who is ruled out through suspension. Pepe is one of a number of players that have picked up slight injuries but, like the remainder of the squad, he is expected to be available for selection.
Portugal have the highest goal expectancy of the four semi-finalists, while Wales have the lowest.
