Blues Quartet Vying for GW30 Armband

Who should you select as your Fantasy Premier League Captain in Gameweek 30?

The international break always throws up a number of questions for FPL managers, as they are made to sweat over what sort of condition players will return in after representing their respective countries and this window promises to be no different.

Most eyes will be monitoring the situation at Stamford Bridge, looking for clues as to the well-being of star players Eden Hazard and Diego Costa. Chelsea entertain Crystal Palace on Saturday and 4 of their players figure in the Top 6 of the GW30 ‘Captometer’ rankings, which gauges the likelihood of players being directly involved in goals.

The table with ID 19 not exists.

Diego Costa is the top-ranked candidate for GW30. He scored in Spain’s victory over Israel on Friday but he didn’t feature against France on Tuesday evening, after picking up an ankle injury in training on Saturday.

Eden Hazard, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, looks far from a certain starter against the Eagles either, having missed Belgium’s clashes with Greece and Russia, which brings the in-form Pedro into the mix, along with team-mate Cesc Fàbregas, who has been boasting some impressive stats when involved.

With such uncertainty surrounding the Blues line-up, the door may well have opened for Gylfi Sigurdsson to seize that captain’s armband. However, as the saying goes ‘it never rains but it pours’, news revealed that Swansea City’s talisman wouldn’t feature for Iceland against Ireland, raising question marks over his participation at the weekend. The Swans are set to host Middlesbrough at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.

Arsenal are looking increasingly likely to miss out on Champions League football next season and really need to start stringing a few results together, so Alexis Sánchez will undoubtedly be a popular choice, even though the Gunners face Manchester City in GW30.

It is Spurs’ Dele Alli, who perhaps makes more appeal. The England man is likely to play in an advanced forward role again, when Tottenham take on Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday and significantly, was on spot-kick duties against Southampton, in Harry Kane’s absence, last time out.

Those are the leading FPL armband contenders for GW30 – who are you going to select?
