Baptism of fire awaits
Game Week 16 of the 2015/16 English Premier League season promises to be another cracker, so here are a few things to watch out for this weekend and those all-important goal expectancies.
It’s not surprising to see Manchester City with the highest goals forecast and this could be bad news for Swansea City. Brendan Rodgers is being touted as a possible replacement for the recently departed Garry Monk but no matter who takes the reigns on Saturday, one thing is for sure he will be in for a baptism of fire. Wilfried Bony could start in Sergio Agüero’s absence and will surely fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet against his former club. Aleksandar Kolarov likes to bomb forward at every opportunity and is another for any short-list this weekend.
Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku have been getting all the plaudits at Everton of late but two other developments are highly significant for fantasy football managers. Gerard Deulofeu has started just 8 matches but he’s been in sparkling form and only Mesut Özil has more Premier League assists to his name this season. The Spanish wide-man is the type of player who get fans out of their seats with his dribbling ability and he’s certainly one to keep onside. Leighton Baines made his return from injury on Monday in the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace. The England full-back registered more assists than any other defender last season and may push for a start at Norwich but Brendan Galloway has deputised in brilliant fashion as pointed out in this WhoScored article by Ben McAleer so keep an eye on that situation.
Spurs could be in for a fruitful afternoon on Sunday when they entertain Newcastle United but they must negotiate a Europa League tie with Monaco beforehand.
