A Hat-Trick Of Hat-Tricks
Can Harry Kane cement his place in history by completing a hat-trick of hat-tricks?
If Harry Kane lines up for Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday evening he will get the opportunity to emulate Jack Balmer who scored 3 or more goals in 3 consecutive games for Liverpool back in 1946.
It would be a monumental achievement for Kane, who recently eclipsed Alan Shearer’s record for the most Premier League goals scored in a calendar year, when he registered his 6th hat-trick of 2017, in Spurs’ 5-2 demolition of Southampton on Boxing Day.
Spurs travel to the Liberty Stadium to take on struggling Swansea City and even though the England striker has been a bit under the weather of late he is expected to take his place in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line-up.
It’s the first of two fixtures in 3 days for the North London club, who also face West Ham United at Wembley Stadium on Thursday. Our GW22 goal projections indicate that they have an aggregate goal expectancy of 4.81 goals over these 2 games so Fantasy Premier League managers should take note!
Kane has been responsible for 18 of the 39 Premier League goals Spurs have scored this season, so it comes as no surprise to see him topping our GW22 Armband Rankings.
However, don’t underestimate his team-mates – Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min, who will also be looking to make the most of their favourable double gameweek.
The brilliant Mo Salah fired in another brace for Liverpool against Leicester City on Saturday to close the gap on Kane at the top of the scoring charts to just a single goal but he was limping when he was substituted in the second half and may not find it too easy to breach Burnley’s formidable rear-guard either, should he be passed fit for the Reds’ test at Turf Moor on Tuesday.
The table with ID 50 not exists.
Sergio Agüero is capable of exploding into life at any given moment and the Argentinian striker completed his own hat-trick when Manchester City put 6 past Watford in September. He could easily sting the Hornets again and is a live armband contender for GW22 with the Citizens’ high goal expectancy for Tuesday’s clash at the Etihad.
It may be the start of a New Year but Harry will not need a second invitation to create another piece of history – can he do it?
