A Blueprint For Success
Time to turn to Big Sam to revive our flagging fantasy fortunes
Despite a brace from our GW16 captain, Harry Kane, it turned into a bitterly disappointing Fantasy Premier League game round with all of our players in action on ‘Derby’ Sunday going on to fluff their lines.
The knee-jerk reaction would be to make wholesale changes in offensive positions but with the threat of heavy rotation looming over the Christmas period, the more prudent tactic might be to shore things up at the back.
So, who better to turn to than the man himself, disgraced ex-England manager Sam Allardyce?
Big Sam knows a thing or two about winning football matches and at the forefront of his thinking is the importance of clean sheets. Simply put, if you keep a clean sheet, you cannot lose the game, so you can bet your bottom dollar that this is something he will be trying to instil into his new Everton charges.
It might not happen overnight but it surely will sooner rather than later, so we’re drafting in Jordan Pickford and Jonjoe Kenny in the hope that Big Sam can work his magic straightaway. Ben Foster and the ‘crocked’ Alberto Moreno are the players to make way.
Spurs have another favourable fixture so opting not to give Harry Kane the armband might seem a bit foolish but there’s a chance that Mauricio Pochettino might look to preserve his star asset at some point on Wednesday, with the clash against runaway leaders’ Manchester City scheduled to take place on Saturday.
We’re therefore going to take a chance on Romelu Lukaku, who allegedly had his manager’s back during an unsavoury episode following Sunday’s Manchester derby, so the least that José Mourinho can do is to return the favour by keeping the under-pressure striker in the firing line.
Lukaku has a great record against AFC Bournemouth so he will don the GW17 armband.
It may be perceived as a bit of a gamble but we’re banking on Big Rom and Big Sam doing their stuff to revive our flagging Fantasy Premier League fortunes!
