British Grand Prix Tips & Predictions

Who will win the British Grand Prix?

The Formula 1 World Championship kicked off at Silverstone in 1950; 75 years later, the British Grand Prix remains a highlight of the season. With Lando Norris fresh off his Austrian victory and Lewis Hamilton’s surprise win here last year, our Racing Post tipster Adam Scriven spots value in George Russell each-way at 10/1.

Key Race Stats

  • Oscar Piastri leads the standings by 15 points over Lando Norris
  • Norris claimed his second win in four races at the Austrian GP
  • Hamilton won at Silverstone in 2023—now racing for Ferrari
  • Russell took pole and fastest lap in last month’s Canadian GP
  • Nico Hülkenberg has three consecutive points finishes

Our Prediction: George Russell Each-Way (10/1)

Russell’s Silverstone record hasn’t reflected his pace: pole position last year was undone by a mechanical failure, and in 2022 he was caught up in the opening-corner crash. His fifth place in 2023 is his best here so far, but recent form—pole, win & fastest lap in Montréal—suggests he can go one better.

Cool weather in the forecast should help Mercedes perform, offsetting the car’s heat sensitivity seen in Austria. Odds-against for a podium, Russell each-way at 10/1 offers solid appeal.

“Cool weather could be a major factor in making Mercedes competitive at Silverstone … Russell can thrill the home crowd with victory.”

Alternative Bet: Nico Hülkenberg Points Finish

Sauber have impressed ahead of Audi’s takeover. Veteran Nico Hülkenberg has scored points in his last three races—despite starting P20 in Austria—and at strong prices, an extension of that run looks tempting.

“Hülkenberg is an F1 stalwart with three straight points finishes and is priced to make it four in a row.”
