O Captain! My Captain!

Will rotation rear its ugly head in GW14 to scupper the best-laid captaincy plans?

Manchester City may be heavily represented at the top of the GW14 Armband Rankings but Sergio Agüero for one, certainly comes with alarm bells ringing.

In fact, with the fixtures set to come thick and fast between now and the new year, Gameweek 14 looks like the ideal opportunity for a plethora of top stars to be rested.

Gabriel Jesus should come into the City side at the expense of Agüero, while Liverpool FPL ‘owners’ (Mo Salah in particular) will be wary of the implications of likely recalls for Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané.

There is also the small matter of the Saturday evening kick-off between Arsenal and Manchester United to factor in, so you can be sure that Arsene Wenger and José Mourinho, two managers with plenty of history, will have one eye on that one before finalizing their midweek team plans.

The safest option might be to go with Harry Kane, who completed the 90 minutes for the first time in 6 outings in Spurs’ 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. A trip to the King Power Stadium isn’t the type of place where Mauricio Pochettino is likely to take too many chances and the Spurs’ boss may still be smarting after missing out to the Foxes in the title race 2 seasons ago.

Tottenham are already 13 points behind leaders’ City in the Premier League standings as well, so 3 points is a must if they are to have any chance of clawing their way back into contention.

Rotation is a word that strikes fear into Fantasy Premier League managers’ hearts – you’ve been warned!
