FPL line-up for Gameweek 3
Imminent FA action forces FPL transfer
Burnley’s Andre Gray has until 6pm on Wednesday 31 August 2016 to respond to a misconduct charge brought against him by the FA, in respect of social media comments he made in 2012.
The Clarets striker, who is part of our 15-man Fantasy Premier League squad, could be looking at a lengthy ban, so we need to decide whether it’s wise to transfer him out now or wait until an official ruling has been made.
Burnley travel to Stamford Bridge in Gameweek 3 and they have a low goals expectancy – the bookmakers estimate that they will score just 0.63 goals against the Blues.
FPL transfer for GW3
Southampton’s next 3 home games are against Sunderland, Swansea City and Burnley, so we’re going to take a punt on Shane Long, as a replacement for Gray. The Irish striker will go straight into our line-up for Gameweek 3 alongside team-mate Nathan Redmond, who still promises to be one of the best fantasy football tips of the season, due to his positional mis-classification.
FPL Captain for GW3
Taking the arm-band off Sergio Agüero was one of those gambles that went astray last week. The obvious thing would be to reinstate the Manchester City man as captain, with West Ham visiting the Etihad this weekend but we’re going to go for Eden Hazard instead.
Chelsea entertain Burnley and we’re expecting Hazard to get his name on the score-sheet.
Elsewhere Steve Mandanda gets the nod in goal, ahead of Vito Mannone, while Matt Phillips, who has been a real disappointment so far, gets a stay of execution, with Dele Alli consigned to the bench.
Can Eden Hazard score more FPL points than Sergio Agüero in Gameweek 3 ?
